Warm Up Thursday, August 21st

Reminders: "Autobiographies" we started yesterday are due tomorrow at the end of the period turned in at the "turn in station" next to the window.
Always write down vocabulary words and definitions in your notes.
Remember, because you will be using these notes on the quiz days and a week later, write in complete sentences so you know what you are talking about.
Contour drawing is the place where most beginners start, a contour is the line which defines a form or edge.
1. What is your definition of "Line" the first Element of Art we will study? (write down the real def. off Line wall poster.
2. In your sketchbook, or on computer paper if you don’t have it yet, found on top of the turn in station by the window:
Draw YOUR OWN  hand WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOUR PAPER! Take up half the page with each drawing. No drawing on notebook paper.
Draw with one line without picking up your pencil.
Do NOT shade, these are only LINE drawings.
DO NOT TRACE! 
3. Then, do a second drawing underneath the first one and you CAN look at your paper this time.
But again, use one line without picking up your pencil
